Rain
(John Lennon / Paul  McCartney)
This is bassically the official version. Dubbed directly off the original  4-track master tape and thus sounding better than before. The same goes fot  the next track....

Again the released version, preceded by an aborted intrumental first take,  recorded like Rain in April 1966.
For No One (John Lennon / Paul  McCartney)
Here, There And Everywhere
(John Lennon / Paul  McCartney)
These two tracks are so called Control Room Monitor mix recordings. This  means thay are off-line recordings during the prelimary mixing of a song.  The Beatles ofthe recorded their sessionsw this way for home listening using  portable cassette-recorder. By doing so, they unintedtionally preserved some  mixes which were subsequently lost on the EMI mulit-tracks. Here are two  examples from the Revolver mixing-sessions, June 1966.
Strawberry Fields Forever

This is the first simple studio-take of what was later to become a  psychedelic master-piece, 24th November 1966.
A Day In The Life

This acoustic version ws rescued from another monitor-mix recording, February  1968.

One of the few unreleased Beatles-songs left in the vaults of EMI. This  is the Beatles -version of a George Harrison song. Recorded in August 1968  for the White Album, a great song with great big guitars

We don´t say Good Night as on the White Album but Goodbye with this  charming acoustic Paul McCartney-recording. Paul McCartney wrote this song  especially for Apple-Artist Mary Hopkin and taped this demo for her in late  1968.
