Again the tape which has been preserved is of inferior quality. THE SONGS: 1. "Ask Me Why". This live version predates the Star Club one by six months and the officially released version by seven. It is the first available version, although very similar to later ones. Played 4 times at the BBC. 2. "Besame Mucho". One of the Beatles' favourite "classic" songs. They performed it in their live act during 1961-62, they played it at their Decca audition and their initial Parlo- phone session (with Pete Best), and it was revived in 1969 and is shown in the film "Let It Be" , although |
